UPS is a good example of this.
they are the business inside of the business. Everything from other companies go through them and then back to the company.

One reason for insourcing to occur is if a company had previously outsourced a certain task, but was no longer satisfied with the work being done on that task, so the company could therefore insource the task and assign it to someone within the company who they believe will do a better job.
There have been quite a few articles about insourcing over the past few months. As expected, this buzz has sparked another debate about our new President's plans to insource federal government jobs. The basic issue surrounds the simple question: should governments insource or outsource jobs - especially in technology? and saved millions of dollars in some cases. One note: I am not addressing the practice of sending jobs offshore or overseas, just whether governments use the private sector or government staff to perform various functions.
